Today Microsoft have improved the information they report on cumulative updates for Windows 10. Microsoft have stated that the change is in response to customer feedback.

What was happening?

Until now the new cumulative update process for Windows 10 has been lacking detailed information on what changes are being made to systems in each release. Microsoft is now providing more information on each of their cumulative updates. Today's release provides information on both of the currently supported releases of Windows 10 (both the initial release and the November update branch).

Similar to Apples Security Update page, Microsoft have a single page which then provides links to more detailed information.

More than just information on security updates

One thing that separates this from other update pages is that is looks like it will eventually provide information on new operating system features as they're released. This months releases both have this same text, stating that the updates are only quality and security updates.

This update includes quality improvements and security fixes. No new operating system features are being introduced this month.
